Fall Style guide 2026
I'm so excited to photograph you and your family this fall!
To help you have the best experience, I've created some fall outfit inspiration to help you plan for your upcoming session
Be sure to wear what makes you feel the most confident and happy and THAT will always make for great photos no matter what!
These outfits are meant to be a guide. You don't need to follow them exactly, and you may already have similar pieces in your closet. It's all about pairing neutrals with a hint of color, usually a muted one. Think whites, tans, grays, mustard, chambray or dusty blue, and light sage.
In fall and winter, I always suggest adding layers and textures to your outfits. Layers photograph beautifully, and they also help in case the weather turns out cooler than planned. Cardigans, jackets, and vests are the perfect finishing touch. For texture, chunky knits, corduroy, leather, and touches of fur are all fun options.
Preparing your little ones
Before your session, pack a bag with snacks, water and any small objects (like toys or lollipops) that might help me get their attention when it’s time for them to look at the camera. If they are old enough to understand you, it’s a good idea to prepare them for what’s to come before the session starts.
Explain how much the photos mean to you so they know to be on their best behavior. A lot of families discuss and pick something fun in advance as a treat after the session if they’re good listeners, like an ice cream cone, for example. It also helps if they’re bellies are full and they’ve has some good rest beforehand.
One Last Thing
The clothes are the frame. What goes inside it is the part that matters.
If you've sorted your outfits and you're still second-guessing yourself, send me a message before your session. I'm genuinely happy to take a look and tell you honestly what I think.
